IMPRINTING TIME, 2021
This project features a collaboration with The Kooples, upcycling old deadstock garments by deconstructing and reassembling them into contemporary look(s). The new collection explores the company’s core DNA - the dynamics between a duo (or a trio), in the context of a post-punk Chinese band, Rights of Rebuilding the Statues. As an epitome of free-lance bands in China, the members are bound by music and formed their collective identity over the years while having undergone financial difficulties and been forced to take on other "stable" jobs. This collection aims to capture moments of their performance as souvenirs which have survived through time and will live on as physical memoirs.
