CREATIVE TAILORED JACKET, 2020
The creative tailored jacket project is inspired by the concept of layering in the regency period where men wore waistcoats that were cut away at the front, showing other garments dressed underneath. The neck was also considered as a sensual place of the male body and is often covered with a cravate. Therefore, I placed an abstracted waistcoat that is cutting away from the back neck which reveals the collar of the more conventional tailored jacket underneath. Both layers are joined at the shoulder and reinforced by two delicate hand-embroidered thread bars inside.
